Gerry Barnaby Film Review: Here After

Genre:  Drama Fantasy contain strong disaster theme & mild supernatural them

Cert: 15 cert

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Marie shares an adulterous relationship with her boyfriend. They are seen waking up in the morning, she in a slightly revealing nightgown, and he in boxers.

Marie is seen in a bubble bath, her shoulders and legs exposed slightly. A nipple can just be seen.

Marie is briefly seen in underwear while dressing.

It is implied a father sexually abused his daughter. ("...he's sorry for what he did to you...")

A few passionate kissing scenes

Violence & Gore: The tsunami scene shows many people being swept away by the water. A woman is shown close up being banged around, swept underwater, and dying (momentarily). She is revived and then vomits a lot of water.

A young boy is pushed around by bullies, and when he runs away, he runs into the street and is hit by a truck. Blood is seen on the car window, and a little on the street.

A train blows up in a subway (off screen) and smoke and fire is later seen erupting from the building

Profanity:  Not much profanity

1 F-word (used in the beginning)

A couple uses of other milder profanity

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:Wine is consumed when George takes a cooking class and when Marie Le Lay goes out to dinner

Marcus' and Jason's mother is a an alcoholic and heroin addict

Frightening/Intense Scenes:The tsunami scene is pretty intense

There is a scene where a boy is being chased by bullies, and he runs out into the road only to be killed by a truck. He is seen dead with blood on his face.

Story: Matt Damon play a physic who struggle with his gift to give messages from beyond the grave, he feel like an outcast to people until some people come to him for help due to loved one they have losted, he finally realise that he must take up the reads again because that's what he was destined for.

Likes : This film was good to start with good storyline to it, i like the way they showed the people in heaven that was good.On one hand, we have a character whose NDE was so life-altering, as to divert her from her primary job as a political reporter, into someone who writes a book extolling the difficulty in revealing the truth in the modern media world about the validity of the NDE experience. The dust jacket on her book, as well as casual references to her research, talk about all of the expert testimony that support the overwhelming facts about NDE experiences, and the correlation between science and the afterlife. And then…the movie tells us nothing. The one thing that lets this film down is the pace of the film it like watching a tortoise walk across a room it was that slow, to say this film wont be for everyone the old generation ,it like this film but the younger generation will probably find this film boring but it all down to what you like & dislike with this film really.

Dislikes : well the film was good to start with but then got really slow, not a lot of action in it & it got boring after a while.

Overall : if you like slow films & mat damon then this is one to watch but if you like action, fast pace film i would avoid this film at all costed because in my opinion this film tanked big time.

Rating : 2 out of 5 star for film rating 3 out of 10 for entertainment.
