Likes : Now ive read a lot of review's on this film some are saying this film is a flop & not worth watching, well the thing is the fact that not all reviewers will like this film & dont really give this film a chance. The thing with fairytale films is most people think of fairytale film's being like fluffy bunny storys for kids which most well are like this but the original storys were from brothers grim. These faitytale storys were no fluffy bunny storys, these were darker storys not everyone whats to see kid'ss film's, people want blood & gore in adventure fanstasy horror this film is not short of that,The storyline is set well, the background story of hansel & gretel was well placed. The tile screen give the film its egde as well, with a soild casting for the film with some emotional scenes. This film dose have that 80s style feel to it with a van helsing style as well but it works well for the film i think because it is enjoyble to watch.Jeremy Renner plays hansel the bother of gretel as you know,he's character in this fim is such a bad ass type of guy with a heart but get on the wrong side you know your in for a ass kicking which really show in one scene where it get emotional. The Beautiful & Goregeous Gemma arterton play Gretel sister to hansel, now her character was just like hansel she really can handle her self in a fight with a witch together there both a force to be feared by witchs, Gemma performance was brillaint in this film, she really show heart & top acting.Famke janssen plays the high witch muriel, Now her on sceen persents as this evil witch was outstanding, specially the makeup & special effect of her face change to this hidious witch by god it really made her look seriously evil & frighting with the dark scenes in this film, her performance as muriel was brilliant.Very beautiful Pihla Viitala plays mina, who's character is reascued by hansel & gretel before the village burn her to the stake for being a witch, but there is something about her which is reveiled later in the film also plays kind of a love intrested for hansel.Derek mears play Edward a massive troll that service the witch's but there is another side on him which shows he has a heart & hate's witchs which was really shown quiet well, most of he's scene were C.G.I but the rest are in a suit which show realism in the character and the voice was done by Robin Atkin Downes like james earl jones did with darth vader in starwars.Ingrid Bolsø Berdal (cameo) played this nasty looking horned witch which put up a good fight & was very entertaining,Joanna Kulig (cameo) played along side famke character as the other witch with red hair,Thomas Mann play the young boy ben who want to be a witch hunter who character seem to have a affection for gretel.Peter Stormare(kind of a comeo) since he only in a few scene's, plays the sheriff berringer who is very arrogunt in nature which bring his down fall & the men he pays to go out to look for the childern.(CAMEO ROLES) Play the younger hansel & gretel were Cedric Eich playing the younger hansel & Alea Sophia Boudodimos playing the younger gretel.Playing hansel & gretel father was Thomas Scharff & playing the mother Kathrin Kühnel. Playing the other witch; the Candy Witch was played by Monique Ganderton who ive seen in a few other films to which she is a good actress. The other thing i love about this film is a dark & gothic feel to it really sets a tone for the film storyline.

Dislike: The only thing that did kind of suck was the fact there was much magic being shown but that just a minor issue as the film was well made.

Overall : An enjoyable film to watch, dont go expect to much with high hope in this film because some will like it where other wont, but its a worth watching film.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 for concept / 7.6 out of 10 for action/storyline
