Story: Life doesn't always go according to plan. Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) has lost everything -- his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother (Jacki Weaver) and father (Robert DeNiro) after spending eight months is a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat's parents want is for him to get back on his feet-and to share their family's obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.
Likes : Normally ROM-com can be full of sappiness,bad acting & lack of comedy & romance,but this film excesses all expectations & raise above it all with brilliant acting.its one of those date movies where it has a bit of both for the girls & boys its pretty well balance film.Bradley Cooper play Pat Solatano a guy who has a complete meltdown having caughting he's wife with someone else in the bathroom,as a result suffers a metal illness because of it & spends a few years in a metal hospital for it,he lost everything he home job but when he goes home he find that even tho hes lost everything there is always hope.The beautiful Jennifer Lawrence plays Tiffany ,Tiffany is a messed-up twenty-something who's had an unfulfilling childhood, who knows how to lure men, and meeting the oddball from a mental health 'facility' causes her to encourage him, adding to her potential admirers. But pat is helpful to her in a different way, and she in turn develops an attachment when he starts by rejecting her as he is already married [though separated]. She does him a favour, against her own inner wishes, then uses this as a lure for him to help her in return: be her partner in a dance competition. With hitches and irritations to both sides of this partnership, each learns to cope in a different way, and the outcome is in doubt right until the end. However, Tiffany both helps and is helped by the relationship: she gets to be less messed-up, and he recovers well from his mental problem,i found her performance playing the role was outstanding.Robert De Niro play pats father Pat Sr.who seem to have a gambling problem & osd to thing but he love his team.Jacki Weaver play the mother Dolores who seem to struggle at time to keep the peace but love her son & wants him to get better,Chris Tucker plays a fellow patient Danny who has a funny side to him but he's a best friend of pats who helps him get through thing,Anupam Kher plays the Dr. Cliff Patel pat physiotherapy as a court order he has to attend in order to stay at home,John Ortiz plays he friend Ronnie that know pat wife who seem to have a horrible stressfull life with his job & family life, Julia Stiles(cameo) plays ronnies wife who is a friend of pat wife who seem to dont like pat to much after what happened.Brea Bee(cameo) play pats cheating wife Nikki that cause the whole mess in the first place after what she did to him which show the danger of cheating can destory someone life.Shea Whigham plays pat brother Jake who seem to love being the centre of attention but loves he's brother.With this film & acting from all the star its show insight to metal illness & how people couple with it & how it can be cause or effect people by self people or someone that really hurts some to the loss of someone you love,metal illness can come in many waves it happens to the best of us,this film was brilliant made with a balance of comedy,romance & heart break.not to mention that Jennifer Lawrence is looking stunning in this film.
Dislike: slightly a little slow,but worth watching.
Overall : Romance,heart break comedy all in one film,if you like the rom com style of film you love this film out standing perfermances from all stars.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.5 out of 10 for storyline & balance
