Story: Acclaimed filmmaker Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous) directs an amazing and true story about a single dad who decides his family needs a fresh start, so he and his two children move to the most unlikely of places: a zoo. With the help of an eclectic staff, and with many misadventures along the way, the family works to return the dilapidated zoo to its former wonder and glory.
Likes : Every now & then i love film like this a heart warming storyline that will melt your heart & really make you cry. A father of two Benjamin Mee played by Matt Damon struggle to keep this family happy after losing the love of he's life Katherine Mee (Stephanie Szostak beautiful actress)(cameo role) to illness , after six months of trying to keep it together he's struggling & decides to make a new start with his kids Dylan Mee (Colin Ford) & Rosie Mee (Maggie Elizabeth Jones) by buying a new house but this home comes with a run down zoo that need fixing up he see a new future.Thomas Haden Church Duncan Mee benjamin's bother who loves him & tries to make him see sense but cant control him decide if you cant beat them join them.J.B. Smoove (cameo) plays the housing agent Mr. Stevens who sell him the house with the zoo.Scarlett Johansson beautiful actress plays zoo keeper Kelly Foster a passionate zoo keeper trying to keep the zoo from falling apart fall in love with Benjamin after realize that he brought the zoo just to keep it open.Angus Macfadyen plays an angry zoo keeper that wants to kill Walter Ferris played by John Michael Higgins who fleeced him of £600 gave it to another zoo,Walter Ferris is a zoo inspector that people hate because he acts like he god.along with the other zoo keepers Robin Jones (Patrick Fugit), Lily Miska (Elle Fanning),Rhonda Blair Carla Gallo) its a roller coaster ride of ups & down emotion trying to get a zoo ship shape & open again.the really heart breaking thing in this film was the tiger spar only 17 years old had to be put down because he was in pain & ill,it really made my cry it was so emotion.
Dislikes : nothing wrong with this film.
Overall : warming true story that family will love to watch,a truly heart melting film ive watch in a long time.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for storyline, 8 out of 10 for the zoo theme & emotion feel of the film
