Story: Friends get together for a night out in a bar. Life is wonderful as a couple share their proposal moment. When, suddenly strange things start to happen. Loss of power. Throughout the city. No phones, no lights, just darkness as the friends try to cope. Then an invasion from UFOs, big ones! The sky is darkened by the ships of the alien invaders. The takeover of planet Earth has begun as our the five friends struggle to survive amid the chaos and calamity.

Likes : I'm going to only say here that i think van dame film are good,some aren't so good,but that is all i can say on liking hes films,because this was that bad i cant even give this i like review instead I'm afraid I'm going to have to put this one down.

Dislike: Several reasons why this film was completely bad was the fact of the dialog was unbelievably treble,the actor was so bad it was like watching amateurs trying to make a film,having van dame in this film you would think he would be the hero of the film....nope he dies half way through,this seriously has got to be the worst van dame film ever made,street fighter was tolerable but this seriously was bad,if you go out to buy this film thinking its good you will regret paying the money for this,Ive seen some bad film in my life but this star van dame was seriously bad & should never of been made its an insult to van dame carrier putting him in this pile of crap with no storyline no plot & no main character to cheer on & no climatic ending & the special effect amatur & fake.

Overall : This is one film that will be a waste of an hour & half,its a must void at all cost, you will regret buy this on dvd if you pay for it,its the worst film ever,but it depends on what you into.

Gerry Barnaby's Film Review: The Last Stand

Story: After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy.

Likes : I'm going to have to be frank about this film because although its was a good film its not something to go rush out to watch this is one of those DVD release that was put on to the cinema because its Arnold Schwarzenegger.This film dose have its moments where your just going to laugh your head off at,some good action scenes but it kind of over before it starts.Altho Arnold is playing a character sheriff Ray Owens, some around his own age, he is seriously looking old & it really showed on screen as well by the way he's walking, i think it time for Arnold to retire from action films because he's had a long carrier & it time to slow down because this film wasn't up to its best.Forest Whitaker brilliant actor plays Agent John Bannister who is in charge of transfer the prison across the country to a jail but runs in to deep trouble when the prison gang break him out & all hell break loss.Eduardo Noriega play the psychopathic drug lord Gabriel Cortez who after escaping tries to escape to the boarder but has to go through Arnold character ray to get there it ends up in this so call ego battle between them.Luis Guzmán a seriously funny actor playing deputy Mike Figuerola who has some good one lines & seriously funny in places.Jaimie Alexander beautiful actress (star of Thor playing sith) she plays deputy Sarah Torrance who seem to still be in love with a jail guy Frank Martinez for being drunk & start a fight played by Rodrigo Santoro who later joins them to to taken down this drug lord.Genesis Rodriguez plays Agent Ellen Richards who seem to be an innocent party but there is something not right about her.Johnny Knoxville plays the mad hatter gun nut,that owns a gun museum,which he dose have some moment you think wth are you doing.which he seem to have these mad cap role in films which to be honest suit him.Peter Stormare play Gabriel Cortez muscle by the name of Burrell who is in charge of the mercs that broke out Cortez who seem to have this ruthless streak to him in a way if he doesn't get want he wants he'll take it anyway.Zach Gilford play the younger deputy Jerry Bailey who seem to have a short carrier as things take a nasty turn for him.Harry Dean Stanton (cameo) plays the farm who doesn't like people being on his land.This film also has some beautiful cars like the bumble bee car from transformer but in red & a supedup car that can do 200mph that was stolen from a car show which both cars get completely mangle & along with some good fire fight scenes its not a bad film.

Dislike: The only Thing really was Arnold playing a action character again i'm finding him far to old to be playing these role its really shows on screen like it did with harrison ford in crystal skull film he did, you can just tell when a actor is losing that look for certain roles when there start to hunch when their walking,the was good but it wasnt one of he's best i think arnolds had he's day back in the 80s & 90s.

Overall : if you like car chase,gun fights & funny moments this is one to watch but i wouldnt rush to go see it because its the type of film that should of gone straight to dvd because it didnt have that wow factor,but it depends on what people like at the end of the day.

Genre: Action Drama Thriller   WARNING:  Contains intense realistic disaster sequences, including disturbing injury images and brief nudity, death scene & dead bodys.

Story: Maria, Henry and their three sons begin their winter vacation in Thailand, looking forward to a few days in tropical paradise. But on the morning of December 26Th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities the night before, a terrifying roar rises up from the center of the earth. As Maria freezes in fear, a huge wall of black water races across the hotel grounds toward her.

Likes : Altho i don't think this film should of been made for reason that the people that have lost people to this disaster could of brought up the pain of losing them,it did show the the courage of one family's love for each to survive & reunite,if you do how ever watch this film be prepared to grab the tissues because this film is serious one of the most emotional films Ive ever watch,seeing all these people dieing & some people injured & people cry to find their loved ones really hits your heart,these true events happen in 2004 where 1000 of people lost there lives & home's due to a freak tidal wave from an underwater earthquake that washed in land at Haiti.The massive damage & lost of live was off the scale & had no warning,our heart went out for those people on that day.Portraying the role of the family that survived that day the amazing actress Naomi Watts as the mother Maria, brilliant actor Ewan McGregor portraying the father Henry, Tom Holland plays the older son Lucas & the two younger sons Samuel Joslin portraying Thomas & Oaklee Pendergast portraying Simon.Now watch this film & seeing this family suggle to stay alive & find each other was just heart breaking,what the real family must have gone through on that day must have been absolutely frightening not to mention have to have counseling after the advent,which would of shock up anyone.The performance by naomi, ewan ,tom , saumuel & oaklee portraying the family that survived that day is outstanding you feel the pain & heartache in their performance.This film seriously is a tear jerker it will make you cry.

Dislike: Only the fact that ths shouldnt of be made because people died.

Overall : emotional,heart breaking, courage that defies all thing to survive,be perpare for a heart pounding tear jerker movie that is going to break your heart.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for storyline / 9.5 out of 10 for concept & true story.

Story: Life doesn't always go according to plan. Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) has lost everything -- his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother (Jacki Weaver) and father (Robert DeNiro) after spending eight months is a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat's parents want is for him to get back on his feet-and to share their family's obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.

Likes : Normally ROM-com can be full of sappiness,bad acting & lack of comedy & romance,but this film excesses all expectations & raise above it all with brilliant acting.its one of those date movies where it has a bit of both for the girls & boys its pretty well balance film.Bradley Cooper play Pat Solatano a guy who has a complete meltdown having caughting he's wife with someone else in the bathroom,as a result suffers a metal illness because of it & spends a few years in a metal hospital for it,he lost everything he home job but when he goes home he find that even tho hes lost everything there is always hope.The beautiful Jennifer Lawrence plays Tiffany ,Tiffany is a messed-up twenty-something who's had an unfulfilling childhood, who knows how to lure men, and meeting the oddball from a mental health 'facility' causes her to encourage him, adding to her potential admirers. But pat is helpful to her in a different way, and she in turn develops an attachment when he starts by rejecting her as he is already married [though separated]. She does him a favour, against her own inner wishes, then uses this as a lure for him to help her in return: be her partner in a dance competition. With hitches and irritations to both sides of this partnership, each learns to cope in a different way, and the outcome is in doubt right until the end. However, Tiffany both helps and is helped by the relationship: she gets to be less messed-up, and he recovers well from his mental problem,i found her performance playing the role was outstanding.Robert De Niro play pats father Pat Sr.who seem to have a gambling problem & osd to thing but he love his team.Jacki Weaver play the mother Dolores who seem to struggle at time to keep the peace but love her son & wants him to get better,Chris Tucker plays a fellow patient Danny who has a funny side to him but he's a best friend of pats who helps him get through thing,Anupam Kher plays the Dr. Cliff Patel pat physiotherapy as a court order he has to attend in order to stay at home,John Ortiz plays he friend Ronnie that know pat wife who seem to have a horrible stressfull life with his job & family life, Julia Stiles(cameo) plays ronnies wife who is a friend of pat wife who seem to dont like pat to much after what happened.Brea Bee(cameo) play pats cheating wife Nikki that cause the whole mess in the first place after what she did to him which show the danger of cheating can destory someone life.Shea Whigham plays pat brother Jake who seem to love being the centre of attention but loves he's brother.With this film & acting from all the star its show insight to metal illness & how people couple with it & how it can be cause or effect people by self people or someone that really hurts some to the loss of someone you love,metal illness can come in many waves it happens to the best of us,this film was brilliant made with a balance of comedy,romance & heart break.not to mention that Jennifer Lawrence is looking stunning in this film.

Dislike: slightly a little slow,but worth watching.

Overall : Romance,heart break comedy all in one film,if you like the rom com style of film you love this film out standing perfermances from all stars.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.5 out of 10 for storyline & balance

Story: Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and-if he has his way-every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It's enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop...except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen's world apart.

Likes : Based on a true story this film wasnt bad,it kind of like the untouchables film but with a bit more violence in it,im not normal one for gangster film but this film really set the tone for a city control by mobsters,the mob boss trying to take over is one seriously evil person.Sean Penn performance in this film was brilliant as Mickey Cohen a ruthless mobster boss & former heavy weight boxer that would do anything to keep he power & steal from other to become the number one mob boss in chicargo,he was seriously playing a evil part. Holt McCallany plays mickey's right hand man Karl lennox who dose the dirty work like killing & control for mickey.Wade Williams plays Rourke ,James Hébert plays a Mitch Racine a pimp for mickey who lors girl that seem to what to make it famous in chicago but they end up being raped & used as whore to make money for the bussiness which is seriously evill.Ambyr Childers (cameo) plays the Milk Skinned Blonde at the station that almost get raped & use for the bussiness but was saved just in time.Josh Brolin play the ex-millitry hard ass cop Sgt. John O'Mara who see the cruption in the city with the help of the cheif of police set up a team of harded men to take down mickey's bussiness,but he seem to have a conflict of he's own being a ex soldier hes away looking for a war.Mick Betancourt (cameo) Detective Sgt. Will Hendricks a fellow cop on the force.Ryan Gosling plays Sgt. Jerry Wooters he character is someone that dosent want to get involed in taking down the mobster & cruption in the city until a young boy is shot due a mob hit by mickeys boys & he fall in love with mickeys girl Grace Faraday played by the beautiful emma stone, Nick Nolte plays Chief Parker who set up the team to take down mickey,Anthony Mackie plays Officer Coleman Harris who hates the drugs being in hes city who has a skill with knife throwing,Robert Patrick character is Officer Max Kennard who is awesome with a six shooter like the wild wild a marksmen with ever shot, Michael Peña play max partner Officer Navidad Ramirez who is learning from max on how to be a good cop,Giovanni Ribisi play the techical side of the gruop Officer Conway Keeler for survalance & wire tapping, who find a way to tap the phone to find out where the deliverys bussiness are.The whole concept of this film being based on a true story & being a hard hitting film really works for the film it show realism in a hard world of 1949 chicago.The actors seem to work off each other & it felt real instead of it not working right.


Dislike: The only thing is really that the bbfc thing this was a 15 but the violence of seeing someone about to be raped & the other violent scene in this film it should of been an 18 cert,

Overall : if you like the untouchabe & gangster movies this is one for you,it mite not be for everyone but it a good film to watch,altho a little violent.

Rating: 4 out of 5 for entertainment/ 8 out of 10 for storyline & concept.
