Story:In modern day Japan, Wolverine is out of his depth in an unknown world as he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Likes : First thing I can say is this wasn't a film I could say wow this is a brilliant film due to it being a little too slow in place but it's a good film, better than the last one they did & worth watching even for the end bit after the credits which really showed something interesting in store for the next film. It's more of an emotional journey for Logan in this film as it is set after x-men 3 :last stand, with a good concept with a lot of japanese history thrown in make it an interesting film to watch. We see a more aggressive & emotional side of wolverine that we haven't yet see, this film really give the wolverine character to really shine out & unleash his fully aggressive nature which was really showed in some of the beautiful choreographed fight scene. It also shows a bit more a logan's back ground which was cool for the film altho some scene were pretty nasty special the begin of the film, Hugh Jackman performance was brilliant in this film to really show a side of wolverine we haven't seen yet. Svetlana Khodchenkova play the villainess viper a mutant poisonous spitting mutant, Rila Fukushima was a awesome fighter playing the young daughter Yukio who become fond of logan, some of her fight scene were brutal & fast. Famke Janssen is in this film only as a (cameo) with a few short dream scene's which which was good because its showed a more emotional side of logan & a broken man from what he had to do in last stand movie. The special effects with the big steel samurai was awesome which also showed a big threat to logan which your see in the film also a twist as well in the storyline.

Dislikes : Altho this film was good it's slight downer was the slowness in some places was a little to slow but apart from that this film was a good film to watch.

Overall : Fast brutal bloody violent fight scenes, good concept & good twist in the storyline.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.5 out of 10 for concept & action

Gerry barnaby's Film Review: Pacific Rim

Genre:  Action Adventure Fantasy, Warning dose contain some intense moments & violent scenes

Cert: its was given a 12A(13 cert) I would say max 15 cert due to the violence.

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: The main character (a man) is shown shirtless more than once.
In one scene, a female character breathlessly admires him.
The male and female leads banter, fight, and bond over the course of the movie in a mostly non-sexual way. At the end, they share an almost kiss (but not quite).

Violence & Gore:Multiple scenes of giant robots facing off against giant monsters. Mostly bloodless although the occasional pilot will be wounded and have a minor blood stain. The robots will stab, shoot and decapitate the monsters as well as hit them with objects around the place.
A character falls out of a robot with blood on his torso and shoulder. He collapses on the floor.
Blood drips from a character's nose throughout the film.
A character gets a blood shot eye and his nose bleeds.
We see men tearing pieces from a dead monster. We see organs although it isn't disturbing.
A character gets monster blood all over his hands. It is blue and chunky.
A robot gets a sword and stabs a monster in half under water.
A flying monster grabs onto a robot and drags him up into the air. The robot gets a sword and slices off the monster's arm and head. The robot then falls to the floor and lands in the ocean, unharmed.
A monster rips open a robot and grabs onto a pilot. The monster throws him away, killing him. We see him screaming as he is thrown away. This is also upsetting.A man threatens a man by putting a knife up the other man's nose. We hear him scream and give over the information although this is slightly humorous as well. Two men get into a fist fight. They throw punches and bash each other around the room. We see them both with cuts and blood on their face.
A man fights three men with wooden poles. They are knocked to the ground although are not killed. A woman then comes in and the two fight, hitting each other with the poles although neither of them are hurt.

ProfanityLanguage includes a few uses of "bitch" (or "son of a bitch"), "ass," "bastard," "goddamn," and "for Christ's sake."

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: None.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Scenes with a young girl in the middle of a monster attack can be upsetting. When a man is thrown out of a robot and killed this can be upsetting.
Some of the monsters may frighten young children. The battles are very intense.

Story: As a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse.

Likes : Right fact one is if you can see past the power ranger, transformer, Godzilla & independence day feel of the film, its surprisingly a fantastic film.
It has emotion moments with some pretty intense moments which balance's the film out, a lot of thought & passion has gone into this film as it shows a lot about Honor & respect in combat situation. The C.G.I design on the creature's & the robot's were amazing & it has some of the best monster fight scenes that you will think wow!!!! that was awesome, but there is a slight twist in the story which I cant say because it will give away spoilers in this review.
What I can say is I don't think this film will be for all, as I said if you can't get past the simple film mix you won't like this film or find it fantastic or entertaining unless you like concepts from the films that are mixed in. To me I loved this film for what it is, a very passionate, emotion action fight for survival film that really gives this film its edge. Idris Elba plays Stacker Pentecost a brilliant part with a bit of a past which you can see through out the film but he plays this guy you really don't want to mess with as he has this on screen presence of a hard strun military man which plays well on screen. Charlie Hunnam plays Raleigh Becket, he is awesome playing he's role as a hero type casting for the film but he really plays it well he really shows a believable character that you can route for.
Diego Klattenhoff (cameo) plays beckets bother who fights long side as a pilot with Raleigh, Rinko Kikuchi plays the female lead Mako Mori who has a past which is reviled in the film who seem to be casted as a slight love interest for Raleigh, Charlie Day plays Dr. Newton Geiszler kind of provides a comical but smart role to the film & what he discover is interesting, Burn Gorman play the other smart scientist Gottlieb which seem to have a love hate friends relationship with newton the pair bring a lighter mood to the film. Max Martini plays Herc Hansen the other team pilots along with his son played by Robert Kazinsky who you will know if you've watch a TV show Eastenders also in the new season of true blood, plays Chuck Hansen who role is this cock, self centre guy with daddy issue's but puts up a good fight.Ron Perlman also cameo role as a dealer of monster parts Hannibal Chau, which is his usual type of role he normally play this hard ass take no prisoner type of guy. I like Ive said before this is a really good film for what it is & worth watching.

Dislikes : Like I said before this film wont be everyone type of film unless you see past the power ranger, Godzilla, transformer & independence day feel or unless you like the mix of film being one film, other wise your probably not going to like this film.

Overall : Fantastic monster mash up fight scenes, intense moment's & good storyline

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8 out of 10 for Concept & storyline

Likes : Some time I do watch the animated film some time they are entertaining & funny, this was a brilliant family film that I recommend watching. Like the other film like finding Nemo & other animated film it's got a very funny adult humour as well as funny cute humour for the kids with some of the scene that will really have you laughing your head off. Nicolas Cage voice of Grug ,The beautiful Emma Stone voice of eep, Ryan Reynolds voice of guy, Catherine Keener voice of ugga,
Cloris Leachman voice of Gran, Clark Duke voice of thunk, Chris Sanders voice of the sloth belt, Randy Thom voice of  sandy altogether bring a fantastic family entertainment film they will make you cry & laugh. Like the squirrel is to ice age ,Chris Sanders provide the comical role to the film playing the voice the sloth name belt who pops up every now & then & dose this very funny dramatic sound "dun dun durrrrrrrr" which really goes set a funny little humour to the film its self as well as a few moments with Nicolas cage character Grug. You couldn't fault this really as its a fun film for all the family & so worth watching to have a laugh. It definitely up there with the some of the best animated family film out they just keep getting better.

Dislikes : Nothing wrong with this film.

Overall : Great family entertainment ,fun for your kids keep them entertain & dose have some adult humour as well adult will find funny.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for family film & dino era theme.
